Shadow Nests
Drawing from the Jungian concept of the “shadow self”, this collection uses the form of the distorted perspex nest to explore the hidden aspects of our inner worlds – the protective, sometimes restrictive spaces we build to conceal our most sensitive emotions and thoughts.
The dynamic interplay of light and dark, the shadows cast and reflections of light, is like a two-way mirror revealing the way we view ourselves and how the world perceives us. How we integrate the shadow and build on the light embodies the Jungian concept of self-actualisation.
